Database Server Log

The database server log lists startup and shutdown messages for the database server. It may also contain warning and error messages if such situations have been detected by the database server.


UNIX + VMS: A log file called `mimer.log` is created when the database server is started for the first time. This file is located in the database home directory. In addition, you can set the `Oper` parameter in the `MULTIDEFS` file to send e-mails containing serious database server messages to relevant people. These messages always go to the system log as well. For more information, see The MULTIDEFS Parameter File.


Win: Database server events are logged in the `EventLog` which may be examined using the Windows event viewer.
