Database Server Log
The database server log lists startup and shutdown messages for the database server. It may also contain warning and error messages if such situations have been detected by the database server.
UNIX: Under UNIX, a log file called mimer.log is created when the database server is started for the first time.
In addition, you can set the Oper parameter in the MULTIDEFS file to send e-mails containing serious database server messages to relevant people. These messages always go to the UNIX system log as well. For more information, see Example of MULTIDEFS File on UNIX.
VMS: On OpenVMS, a log file called MIMER.LOG is created when the database server is started for the first time.
Win: Windows NT/2000: Database server events are logged in the EventLog which may be examined using the Windows NT event viewer.
