Mimer SQL Mobile supports a large number of emulators in the Windows environment. These emulators are used with Visual Studio 2005.
One emulator for Symbian is supported by Mimer SQL Mobile.
Emulators from the following software development kits may be used with Mimer SQL Mobile:
To work with an emulator, you perform the following steps:
Start the Device Emulator Manager on the Visual Studio 2005
tools menu:

Right click on an emulator and choose Connect. This will
start the emulator:

When the emulator is running right click again and choose
Cradle:

At this point ActiveSync should start and connect to the emulator. If it does not, make sure that the Connection Settings on the File menu in ActiveSync allows connections to DMA.
If Mimer does not automatically start a Mimer installation
choose Add/Remove programs on the Tools menu in
ActiveSync:

Install Mimer by checking the appropriate check-boxes:

When ActiveSync have copied the files the installation process
will continue in the emulator:

The Symbian emulator comes with the Symbian SDK (Software Development Kit). This emulator shares environment with the Windows system installed, and partly runs in its own environment.
In particular, the file system and TCP/IP-stack for MIDlets is shared with the Windows system, while other components use the Symbian native TCP/IP-stack.
When Mimer SQL database files are exported to the Symbian emulator, database files should be placed in the emulators \data\Mimer. Once database files has been exported, the Mimer database server may be started. Note however that since the Mimer SQL exporting tool cannot stop and start server you have make sure the emulator server i stopped before attempting to export.
Currently, Mimer cannot import databank files from the Symbian emulator.
