The procedure to install Mimer SQL Mobile on Windows Mobile on a Device or in the Emulator are exactly the same.
Before starting, make sure that Microsoft ActiveSync 4.0 or later is installed. If you want to work with Mimer SQL Mobile in the emulator, you also have to make sure that ActiveSync accepts DMA connections. To enable this, open ActiveSync and select "Connection settings..." under the "File" menu and then select to allow connections to "DMA".

You must have Microsoft ActiveSync version 4.0 or later installed as this software is used to install Mimer SQL Mobile on your handheld device. The recommended version is 4.2.0 (or later).
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 is used to develop Mimer SQL Mobile applications. One or both of the following products are used together with Visual Studio 2005:
This allows applications to be written in native C/C++ code or use managed code from C#, VB.NET or equivalent together with the Microsoft .NET compact framework. Applications can either use the emulators that are shipped with the Windows Mobile SDKs or an actual device.
The Mimer SQL mobile is licensed for use in a test and development environment. Due to this, the files for Windows Mobile have been signed with the test certificate that is used for testing applications with Visual Studio 2005.
To redistribute the Mimer SQL Mobile files a Mobile2Market certificate or equivalent is needed. Please contact Mimer Information Technology to obtain files signed with the appropriate certificate.
To test Mimer SQL Mobile on an actual device it may be necessary to provision the development certificate to the device. This is done with the rapiconfig utility. The file to pass to rapiconfig (with switch /p) is called sdktestcerts.xml. Both of these files are found in the Visual Studio 2005 tree.
