Introduction
The Mimer SQL product range covers database management technologies from embedded systems to enterprise servers. Your database can reside in the server room, on the desktop or on the mobile device.
The Mimer SQL product has the unique characteristic that it is exactly the same product that runs on all the platforms it supports - Mimer SQL does not have any "light" versions.

Description
The Mimer SQL relational database management system (RDBMS) is available for Linux, all the major UNIXes, Windows, Mac OS X and Open VMS platforms. In addition, various mobile devices and phones are supported based on, for example, Windows CE, Symbian OS or embedded Linux.
In general, the following operating systems are supported:
- OpenVMS from Hewlett Packard
- Tru64 UNIX from Hewlett Packard
- HP-UX from Hewlett Packard
- AIX from IBM
- Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP from Microsoft
- Windows CE/PocketPC from Microsoft
- Linux
- Solaris from Sun Microsystems
- Symbian OS from Symbian
- Mac OS X from Apple

The Mimer SQL product contains both a client and a server part on each platform listed. Client/server support is built into Mimer SQL and the functionality is always fully included in the distribution packages. The network protocol used is platform independent.
