Introduction

Python is an interpreted, interactive, object-oriented, and portable scripting language. It can be an alternative for scripting languages such as Perl and PHP.
Environment

Python is available for both Windows and Unix environments. On Unix, you must install an ODBC driver manager. We can recommend iODBC or unixODBC. You can get them at www.iodbc.org or www.unixodbc.org.
Example

Get the Python source from www.python.org (Unix) or www.activestate.com (Windows). Then get a very nice ODBC interface, mxODBC, from www.egenix.com/products/python/mxODBC/.
