Mimer SQL is a high performance relational database engine, targeted at mission-critical production environments. With scaleable performance and availability on platforms like Linux, Linux ARM, Windows, Android, macOS and OpenVMS platforms, it is ideal for open environments where interoperability is important. The run-time characteristics, such as speed, ease-of-use, stability, and self-tuning, makes Mimer SQL well suited for software product environments where a maximum of database up-time and a minimum of database administration is a requirement.

In a Mimer SQL distribution package both client and server software are included. The database server can be accessed by local communication or over TCP/IP from localhost or a remote host. Through its complete conformance to the SQL standards, a native implementation of the ODBC interface, and a JDBC driver, a Mimer SQL database can be accessed by a large number of different development tools. See the Database API page for details on access interfaces.

If not using a headless installation package, the Mimer SQL product includes DbVisualizer, the leading platform independent and cross database tool aimed to simplify database development and management for database administrators and developers. For simple command line database access, the BSQL tool is provided. In addition there are several tools and scripts available for database administration and management.

The Mimer SQL 11 distribution package provides the Mimer SQL Experience product, based upon the modern SQL compiler that has been developed with many additional optimization techniques and rich SQL language support.

The foundation for Mimer SQL 11 was to some extent a focus on various performance improvements. The basic news for it can be seen in the article What’s new in Mimer SQL 11. The Mimer SQL 11 documentation set is also updated with the details you may need to explore the abilities of this database product. Also see the Mimer SQL Release Notes provided by the distribution package for further details concerning Mimer SQL version 11.
