Just recently version 11.0.5 was released for Linux and Linux ARM, and Windows is just around the corner. This version takes additional steps in achieving superb scalability and performance. There are also some corrections and updates made that can be read about in the Release Notes provided within the product package. See all new packages at the Download page, and read the article What’s new in Mimer SQL 11 for the full picture.
Mentioning Linux ARM, we can now gladly present our first package for that platform as an officially downloadable distribution. We have had support for Linux ARM for quite a long time, but it has been on a customer need basis and therefore not published on the developer site. The package available now supports the AArch64 or ARM64, which is the 64-bit extension of the ARM architecture. See the Download page.
Another new thing is that we now present a new type of distribution package – a server package, or a so called headless package. This type of distribution package contains no GUI based programs, no PDF-documentation and has no desktop integration, and is thus a lot smaller than the corresponding full size distribution. Headless packages are a complement to the ordinary packages, primarily assumed to be used at database server installations or in embedded environments. See the Download page.
Last, but not least, we would like to push for Mimer SQL as a Docker container! Being available in this environment means a very handy way of managing installations in a simple and controlled manner. See the full story in the article Mimer SQL in Docker.
